Sakura - Softie Awards

This is my entry into the Softie Awards. I'm quite proud of it because it was my first attempt at creating a softie from scratch. It was actually a last minute decision - a couple skeins of wool were lying on my desk and the colors were perfect for a cherry tree. I knew I would need something for the center of the blossoms but didn't think I had enough of any one vintage button and then I remembered my last post. Duh, there are 24 pink buttons right there and they matched the yarn perfectly! Kismet! I'm now envisioning other lovely softie trees - Japanese Maples, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus'...
