Sakura - Softie Awards

This is my entry into the Softie Awards. I'm quite proud of it because it was my first attempt at creating a softie from scratch. It was actually a last minute decision - a couple skeins of wool were lying on my desk and the colors were perfect for a cherry tree. I knew I would need something for the center of the blossoms but didn't think I had enough of any one vintage button and then I remembered my last post. Duh, there are 24 pink buttons right there and they matched the yarn perfectly! Kismet! I'm now envisioning other lovely softie trees - Japanese Maples, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus'...

Note: If you visit the Softie Awards Flickr Pool, you need to sign in to be able to view my entries. Unfortunately, my account is still pending so they are not accessible to the public. Sorry!

Very cool, the buttons are so perfect - Such a sweet and snuggly tree!

This is very cool; congrats on the award--you deserve it! Do you have a pattern?
